The author of the communication is T.K.K., a national of the Syrian Arab Republic born in 1987. He claimed that by deporting him to the Syrian Arab Republic, following the rejection of his temporary asylum request, the State Party would violate his rights under articles 6 and 7 of the Covenant.

On 19 September 2022, the communication was registered without granting the request for interim measures.

On 21 September 2022, the State Party submitted a request for a courtesy translation of the communication, which was transmitted to the author on 3 March 2023, inviting him to submit the translation by 3 May 2023.

On 3 May 2023, the author informed the Committee that he no longer wished to pursue his communication. His request for withdrawal was transmitted to the State Party on 29 August 2023.

On 16 March 2026, the Committee, in the light of the author’s request to withdraw the communication, decided to discontinue its consideration of communication No. 4221/2022.
