E.Q. v. Albania

The author of the communication is E.Q., a national of Albania born in 1985. The author claimed that the State Party had violated his rights under articles 2, 17 and 19 of the Covenant.

On 17 January 2024, pursuant to rule 94 of its rules of procedure, the Committee, acting through its Special Rapporteurs on new communications and interim measures, requested the State Party to refrain from carrying out any further inspection, dissemination or judicial processing of the material seized from the author while the case was under consideration by the Committee.

On 23 April 2025, the author requested the Committee to discontinue its consideration of the communication, given that the Constitutional Court had rendered a judgment on his constitutional complaint in which it had unanimously granted the main requests set out in his complaint.

¶4.

On 16 March 2026, the Committee, in the light of the fact that the authors’ main requests had been granted, decided to discontinue its consideration of communication No. 4565/2024.
