The author states that the State party has violated her rights under articles 1, 2 (c)–(f), 5 (a) and 16 (1) of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, because of the violence suffered on account of her gender, as well as the lack of an institutional response owing to entrenched stereotypes in judicial practices.
On 14 November 2019, the State party informed the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women that, after several meetings with the author, a friendly settlement1 had been signed on 23 October 2019.
- See attached friendly settlement, adopted through Decree No. 679 of the National Executive on 17 August 2020. ↩
On 15 September 2022, the State party informed the Committee that it had fully complied with the settlement, including acknowledgement of international responsibility, and on 12 April 2023, the author requested the Committee to consider compliance with the settlement to be satisfactory.
