Decision adopted by the Committee under the Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, concerning communication No. 174/20191*

  1. *Adopted by the Committee at its sixty-ninth session (15 February–5 March 2021). ↩
¶1.

On 5 December 2019, A.M.F. and J.A.M.F. submitted an individual communication to the Committee on behalf of themselves and their three children aged 4, 5 and 7. On 11 December 2019, the Committee registered the communication and requested the State party to take interim measures to suspend the eviction of the authors and their family pending the consideration of the communication or to provide them with adequate alternative housing, in genuine consultation with them.

¶2.

At its meeting on 22 February 2021, the Committee, having noted the request from the authors and the State party to withdraw the case on the grounds that, with assistance from the Valencia Social Inclusion Income scheme, the family has concluded a private rental contract for another dwelling, decided to discontinue its consideration of communication No. 174/2019, in accordance with rule 17 of its provisional rules of procedure under the Optional Protocol.
